How to Improve the Heat Dissipation Effect of Electronic Components with Grey Thermal Conductive Silicone Grey

         Thermal conductive silicone grease is a kind of thermal conductive material coated between heat source and radiator. After coating, the heat transfer speed of heat source and radiator can be effectively increased, and the heat dissipation capacity can be effectively improved. But it does not mean that the heat transfer speed of thermal conductive silicone grease is stronger than that of direct contact. The best thermal conductive material in the world is still metal, but the contact surface of the two materials can not be completely contacted.


         Because the metal surface after mechanical cutting seems very smooth, in fact, there are many pits and holes which we can not see with the naked eye. These pits and holes are filled with air. It is well known that the thermal resistance value of air is very high. If the heat source is directly contacted with the radiator, the holes in the pits and holes are filled. Gas will seriously affect the heat transfer speed of the two, so that the radiator can not completely volatilize its due heat dissipation effect, leading to electronic components junction temperature overheating and failure.


         A layer of thermal conductive silicone grease is coated between the two. After a round of cold and hot cycles, the thermal conductive silicone grease will be completely filled in the pits and depressions, extruding all the air inside, improving the contact of the heat sink surface, effectively improving the heat transfer between the heat source and the radiator, so that the heat dissipation effect is better than when there is no thermal conductive silicone grease. But the amount of coating can not be too much. If the amount of thermal conductive silicone grease coated between the two is too much, it will form a film in the middle of the contact surface. On the contrary, it will hinder the direct contact of metals, resulting in a worse heat transfer effect than that without thermal conductive silicone grease, so the amount of coating must be moderate.
